Home Made Sausagemeat

We hear lots in the media about processed meats and the like, being bad for you, blah, blah. Would home made sausages come into this category, or, does the term processed really mean additives?

Commercially made sausages have preservative and other additives, home made ones would not, so they are 'fresh meat' not processed except mechanically. ( mincing)

Thanks, Eddie. That's what I thought.
All meat has to be processed to some degree, unless your taking a bite straight from the pig. I think the processing they are talking about at the moment is mainly the curing/smoking processes to increase the longevity of the product. Just cutting/mincing fresh meat isn't going to be harmful. British sausages provided they use natural casings and have no preservatives are not really what they are concerned about.
Home-made are perfectly safe rockyracoon.

Well, I made my own sausage meat yesterday and had our version of McMuffin for breakfast this morning. I have to say, it was well worth the effort.
