Just been told by BT if the noisy line is nothing to do with them then i will be charged £180 to me this is a form of blackmail how would i know anything about a crackling on the line

what would you prefer, to be told about the fees in advance or not to be told about them? The former's much better in my opinion. And you could always wait till the rain has stopped and the sun come out (probably next April).
