Ask your GP for a test especially if you suffer from irregular periods, are overweight, hirsuite or have acne. Obviously as its a syndrome you dont have to be suffering from all of these symptoms.
I had this on my face, especially badly on the sides and my forehead when I was taking the Pill - it went very dark during the summer despite using a high factor suncream. I was told by my doctor that it was an hormonal effect which was enhanced by the Pill. Once I stopped taking the Pill the pigmentational began to fade - taking about 6 months to go altogether.
