Can someone enlighten me about the 'Nuclear Codes'?
Can the President just use them 'off his own back' as it were, or does there have to be clearance from the CIA or Congress ?

Eddie - The President has the power to launch a nuclear attack, but the decision must be agreed by the Secretary Of Defence.

Actual operation od the launch mechanism is a 'two-man job' to prevent anyone acting alone.

At the moment, Trump has his head so far up the back passage of Putin, that he can't see the wood for the trees, so I'm not sure he will start a war with one of his mates.

But as regards North Korea, I doubt if he could pick it out in an atlas, let alone wage war with it.

I can only give an opinion on what I hear/view on the media. Last week an American journalist stated Trump may well continue to vocalise stupid ideas but, in fact the senate will " shut him up " by their actions, not his.
