I've been waiting for a more acceptable news media to cover this (BBC, SKY Guardian etc) but there seems little interest in it.
If 4 White people abduct disabled Clinton supporting black man and torture him and stream it live on Facebook it would be be viral in minutes ... wouldn't it?

Have they only decided to call it a hate crime because the abusers are showing no remorse?
Just goes to show how stoopid these morons are, if they had pretended to be sorry they would have got away with a simple charge of battery.
One more thing ... why no kidnap charge?

Another day - a fresh opportunity to get involved in the debate again -
No-one knows anything about the circumstances of this incident - but Talbot has consistently put forward various scenarios and schools of thought, and then become frustrated when people are disinclined to agree o the basis of lack of facts available.
This last point was simply one more of those - and as you have responded - we don't know, and neither does he.

I haven't actually heard exactly what they have and have not been charged with, the only thing any channel says is 'charged with a hate crime'
Fingers crossed for a kidnapping charge that carries a heavy sentence.
we don't benefit from pretending racism doesn't exist we don't benefit from not talking about it

If you have not worked out the difference between a simply point made as part of a debate, and an 'attack', then I cannot help you.
Except you are aware of the concept of 'attack' - it is demonstrated in your response to anne, and is equally undeserved.
If you don't want your questions answered, don't ask them - I have already tried to discuss your unwillingness to accept that people will not answer as you wish, and that simply resulted in more hostility from you.
If this thread gets pulled, it will be your responsibility, and yours alone.

Garaman, sorry to be late getting back to you.
//I was just referring to numbers who hear about something, or see a video, as opposed to how they react to it. I don't profess to know, but would be surprised to find that far fewer people know about this than would have known were the victim black. The reaction would have been different I don't doubt, but that is not what I am saying.//
It seems to me that black people/ethnic minorities appear to be rather more prone to reacting to what they perceive to be offence or injustice, and therefore information relating to any such grievance is more readily shared – hence the swift rise of organisations such as ‘Black Lives Matter’. White people don’t tend to do that. I haven’t shared this report with anyone. Have you?
