For the last couple of weeks I've had problems with my ribs. Especially when driving, stopping at a junction and having to crane my neck to check traffic, ribs move out of place. Pain is horrendous. It has got worse, now all I need to do is just turn my body slightly and it goes. Has anyone any thoughts what I can do please.

Have you had a bad cough recently? My sister thought she might have broken some ribs through violent coughing.

If so, antibiotics.
it sounds like it could be intercostal cramp. I get it and its agony. calmagzinc tablets control it

Cloverjo I always have a cough. Don't know about breaking ribs though. I heard something about floating ribs where we have some that are not attached but can't see it's these. I have to massage area where ribs have moved to get them back in place and help the pain go. It can last for up to five minutes.

Top of the ribcage or bottom?
Go and get checked, it may be Costochondritis or rather less likely Tietze's .syndrome.

Wolfgang I have been taking those tablets for quite a while now, maybe twelve months. I have horrendous burning in legs and feet, possible part of irritable legs syndrome. Helped a lot at first but gradually coming back. That pain is also horrendous. Noticed I am getting more cramp problems in strange places. Loser arms, fingers, legs, hips to name a few.
Gosh I sound as if I need putting down, falling apart all over!

Baldric more to the top.

Mamya that is quite scary, I will think about a doctors appointment.
Your floating ribs are at the bottom, so you can rule them out.
Only the names look scary Caran , once you know there are things you can do and it often settles after a while too.

My daughter has Tietze's and she only has the odd flare up.

Mamma mine are daily, but only on one side. If I turn slightly to the left I feel it and have to move back quickly. Sometimes I can stop it, sometimes I can't.
Go get checked out, then you'll be nearer to knowing Caran.

Thank you Mamya.
Odd situation.
It doesn't sound a big deal, but i would go and see your GP as these symptoms may indicate an under-active thyroid glad and a simple blood test may give you an answer.
