The cursor on my lappy just had a funny turn on it, sticking and then going all over the screen. Restarted my lappy and it seems ok again. What causes this and can I prevent it happening again? Thought my new 'puter was up the duff.
Thanks.

I'd suggest only worrying if it happens regularly. Is the mouse wireless ? Did you accidentally turn on the touchpad ? Otherwise may just be corruption that cured itself on reboot.

Thank you O-G.
Just using the lappy touchpad. What do you mean by turning on the touchpad?
If using a mouse you can disable the touchpad.

Didnt know that Jackdaw but as i said was only using touchpad when curser went a bit haywire. took me ages just to get the cursor to shutdown icon.
Touchpads can be turned off in my limited experience. I don't like them, too easy to trigger when typing on the keyboard. Touch them in the wrong place and the cursor can jump. As a matter of keeping sane I'd recommend using a mouse or trackball instead.
