You don't know the reasons for the break and I would guess a good majority who use this site didn't have the internet in their early twenties...

most of us barely knew what photocopiers were in our early twenties. As for knowing what people, even famous people, got up to while they were single, nope, not unless you actually knew them. Passing judgment on celebrities is fairly new.
