I know you can block people on Facebook but what if they are not in 'friends'? Can you stop people messaging you?

I believe so yes.

I have 3 people blocked on mine and we aren't friends. I think you have to go into settings and select how to stop someone from bothering me and it should stop all contact.

Thanks queenie. I have someone I used to go out with when I was 15 wanting me to send him pictures of me. Scary. I think I might send him one of Les Dawson when he played that woman in the hair curlers (don't know if it was Cissy or Ada) That should scare him off!

In settings you can select that only people on your friends list can message you.

I have people blocked that I've never been 'friends' with.

I have never blocked a friend although I know this is possible. Its very easy to block people who you don’t want to allow access to you.
