Hello

Scenario is:
A person works part time in two jobs both over a five-day period (Mon to Fri). The first job is causing work related stress and depression. The second job is free of problems, the person can complete their duties and is well and enough to attend.

Question is:
Can the person be off sick from the first job with work related stress and depression whilst at the same time attend the second job as normal?

i wouldnt have thought so - you cant work while you have an active sicknote
As far as I understand a sick note is only advisory from your Doctor thus if you don't submit it you can carry on working.Surely the best solution is to leave job A and just work on Job B until another part time opportunity comes along.
There are no such thing anymore as sicknotes unless its a self cert. The ones the doctors produce are “fit notes” which cover what the person is able to do and what they are not. If the first job has things in it which the doc is saying the person isn’t fit to do and the second job doesn’t then I can see how the person might be okay to do job one and not job two. I know of someone who had this issue working both jobs in a school. The first job entailed lifting heavy weights and the second job did not. The school were fine with this and understood, he carried on doing job b while being signed off in job a. Are the two jobs with the same employer?
The following link is to a tribunal case that ruled that you can. Having a google around advice seems to be that it is advisable to get a fit note that stipulates you are unfit for job 1 but fit for job 2. Also advisable to be open with bosses at job 1.

Job 2 could also need the fit to work note, I could not permit any staff into the office who had 'sick note' due to insurance stipulations which could give job 2 a problem if they have anything similar.
