Don't send any money, it has SCAM written all over it. Just go by the rule that if you have genuinly won something, you will never have to pay to receive it!

Thanks makes interesting reading
yes please dont send any money!!! Anyone who has genuinely won money would receive it less any handling fee's - and it's impossible to win money for a prize he didn't enter either. If you send 20, they will then know that you are serious about receiving the money and will probably then ask you to send 200 pounds.

It called scambaiting.Often don over the internet. This site will tell you more and make you wet yourself laughing.

The name made me laugh ! the way it's pronounced sounds like the word for "con artist" in French !!! Escroc ! lol seriously, they should do a bit of research before choosing their name for a company ...
Interesting observation maximo. Escrow is actually an established business process. In very simple terms it is when a third party hold funds or an asset independently (often in Trust) on behalf of a party in a transaction until the transaction is completed. It could be money until goods are received or a copy of software for security purposes for example. Its quite common. Even E-bay offers this service via a supplier.
Really ? Well, I didn't even know it was a real word, I thought it was made up ! Thanks for that antiguru. I just thought it was very funny for a scam company to have this name !
Hi there, well i have just recieved the same letter this morning and thought id check it out too. Ive read the small print on the back carefully and from what i can gather through careful wording is that we would be entered into a draw for this 5,000. which is confusing as it says you HAVE 5,000. so i wasn't sure either and also they use the word 'eligible' for the 5,000. and as sholay says, why would we have to pay for our winnings?also has your step-dad entered any comps for this? coz i know i havent. still you have to wonder, what if? but i suppose thats how they get you and your money so i think im gonna leave mine. If i find anything out though ill post it, as i am still going to look into it.oh and im not elderly im 25 so i think its just aimed at anyone whos name and address has been passed third party.

Hi,

i recieved one of these letters today and checking it out i came accross this site.

thanks for the info and if it helps heres some more...

reading the small print on the back, it tells me you would be buying the offer contained in the letter( in my case a pendant) and will be entered into a sweepstak draw for the 5000, all for the cost of 20.

personally speaking i will not be sending any money because although it is probably a legal transaction when read properly, the letter as a whole is very missleading, and implies you will get the 5000 but only entitles you to the offer connected to your award id number( which might not be the 5000.)

the odds of winning are listed as 1:550,000 so dont waste your money.

also check out the anti 149 scam sites( there are many)

I have came home from work this morning to find a letter from Global Escrow Services, saying the same, I have won 5000 woohoo! Short lived as i have to send 20!!!!!!!! Common sence I know, its a scam, bummer!

I phoned my lawyer and asked if I can file an international law suite for this money, he said, of course I could but I'd have to send the 20 first to see if they fail to meet any legal obligations etc....

Ive said to my lawyer there is no way im sending any money to those scammers, my advice is the same to anyone on this planet who recieves these letters
!!!! DONT SEND ANY MONEY !!!! :)
