It's sad that a man who has as much money as some small African countries couldn't find it in his heart to simply hand over the money without fighting every inch of the way. The man may be cash rich, but he is morally bankrupt.

Is it enough?
will that save his knighthood?
I really cannot bring myself to say, 'Good for him'.

Think it's enough to pay pensioners what they were expecting to get before the closure Tilly.

jno, like to know that myself.
Question Author
Nor me Tilly for he surely wouldn't have done it of his own accord.

Agree Andy. Do you think he should keep his knighthood?

Sky News has just reported that £363m is deemed to be a reasonable amount although £571m was the original figure quoted. Green is reported as saying he has reached this agreement "voluntarily". That's a joke I presume.
// Green is reported as saying he has reached this agreement "voluntarily". That's a joke I presume.//

it means here that he is saying that he did nothing criminal or negligent

"Workers will get the same starting pension that they were originally promised"

Shamed into doing the decent thing......And about time.
Question Author
I doubt he knows what shame is Mikey.
Yes, you are probably right Ladybirder.
// "Workers will get the same starting pension that they were originally promised" //

but still not the rises
that is where the other £200 m woud have gone

I still feel sick when I think of him ....

took £500m from BHS before it er expired ....
As far as I am concerned, Green is a cynical, greedy crook.
He has been touted as a great business man....bloody rowlocks.

If he was so great, why did he sell NHS to that serial failure, Dominic Chappell, a man who had no experience of retail whatsoever ? Chappell paid himself handsomely ruining BHS even further.

Lets give some praise to Frank Field MP, and the Commons Select Committee, that kept up the pressure on Green, until he paid up.

And I still feel that his Knighthood should be stripped from him.
The cash he has offered is only one tenth of his wealth. He could and should have offered more.
chrissakes Mikey
your stubby fingers are so outraged as you type, Mr Angry's fingers in fact that

you wrote that he sold the NHS .... erm he didernt
// The cash he has offered is only one tenth of his wealth. He could and should have offered more.//

hmmm I wonder what the tax situation on that is
( if he is handing back income - then surely he gets tax paid back ?)
Peter....Yes...angry fingers indeed !
