I think that at weekends crosswords account for something like 80% of all posts. I haven't noticed whether it's quieter or busier. The drop off in postings is more noticeable in areas such as Science, Business, Jobs and Law which have been relegated from the list of prominent topics
I've just checked both 'Topic Lists' and tbf 'Science, Business, Jobs and Law' are all just one click away.
Is that really too hard for people to cope with?
Is it just me ....... I have already forgotten what the old format was like. The new set up is very clear and easy to use. I can't see where anyone can have problems.
Actually it's not. The number of posts in Jobs, Music, Law, etc has reduced. It seems obvious to me that making 6 categories visible all the time and expecting posters, especially occasional ones, to go looking for others, will lead to a reduction in traffic in other categories
^^ Yes I agree, to a possible new member it looks as if Quizzes & Puzzles,Crosswords,News,TV,Body&Soul,CB is all we are about.
When I joined (11 years ago) I only looked in Science for the first few months. If it was me starting now I would probably not bother to register as a member.
I have no idea if Eddie is but I am partially sighted and coping quite well, I use the categories at the bottom of the page more (yes I know there are no sub cats) they are better than the drop down covering so much of the screen.
I think many don't like change and they may come back after a while hopefully.
