Why are the CPS so useless, they let off criminal lowlives all the time and then move heaven and earth to prosecute a legitimate self defence case.

However, I think the result is the correct one.
It would also be quite nice to think that Mr Stables and his accomplice could be charged with something, too........if circumstances permit.

// Criminal low life scum trespassed on farmers land, he shot him. What else is there jno?//
besides a case for manslaughter if dead
or GBH if still alive
quite
R v Martin is the famous case where the farmer shot a burglar ( lying in wait for him in fact ) when the burglar was fleeing - and a defence of self-defence is quite difficult to get up and run
same for Sgt Blackman whose self defence plea involved dragging and unarmed prisoner across a field and then quoting shakespeare as he shot him
" For in this sleepof death what dreams may come
when we have shuffled off this mortal coil
to sleep tosleep perchance to dream ay theres the rub"
novel.... and unsuccessful
