It's always been a thought uppermost in my mind whenever mass migration is discussed, Togo.

The Middle East and Africa is being emptied of its young men as they decamp en masse for a better life. Much of mainland Europe is being emptied labour. Not only the unskilled variety who leave to pick fruit in the UK but also of the skilled variety. Just few days ago in another question I asked how it was seen as perfectly acceptable - even vital - for thousands of nurses, trained by other European nations, to up sticks and work in the UK whereas it was suggested that UK trained staff should be tied here to repay their training cost. Answer came there none.

Mass migration will cause large imbalances of various types across nations - particularly (though not exclusively) in those that are net losers of people. The long term effects of it have not been properly thought through (if they have been considered at all) as short term expediency seems all that matters.

'The west' is emptying Syria of any moderate opposition? I think you'll find it's Syria's regime which is doing that. And I think you'll also find that suits Mr Assad and Mr Putin just fine (anyway i thought the received wisdom here was that all the nasties were actually secretly invading Europe :-) )

Regarding the Cologne New Year's Eve mass sex attacks:

That may well be but the others where Algerian, Tunisian, and Moroccan.

So taking into account that the Police Chief was suspended for playing down the attacks, perhaps his replacement was within his right to take the action he did against those North African men?

the question is will Germany and much of Europe regret taking in so many refugees, considering that there is wide spread unemployment in many parts of Europe.

The Police Chief was 100% right in screening, but the minute he texted a derogatory term for north African immigrants he answered your original question about institutionalised racism.
