Footage had 2 Oriental runners going through the finish and down over Westminster Bridge towards St Thomas's, running down the lactic acid.
The Beeb reported that these two Japanese had mistakenly thought that they were in a week's endurance race to cover as much distance as possible (this does happen over there) and that their English was so poor that they hadn't realised it was just a marathon and that they needed to be stopped.
Result, orientals out running on Hampstead Heath or wherever across London were being accosted by mad Brits, waving their arms, and shouting 'stop, stop'.....

BMW did a good one once that there were fake BMWs on the road.
Excellent copies, but the fraudsters had got the blue and white segments of the badge reversed. Of course they described the badges on the 'fakes' as the the true layout.
Apparently a few people were ringing up saying their car was a fake.

We had a good one in the local paper. We have a problem with wild boar in our forest. There are thousands of them and they don't stay in the forest now. They come into the towns and villages, ruin gardens, parks, sportsfields and cemeteries. The mess is indescribable. Anyway in the paper they said bears were going to be released in the forest to help exterminate the boar. Quite a realistic article but I realised it was a spoof when I saw the name of the person organising this. Floral Spoi. That gave it away.
