Brilliant. Oh and my friend at work thinks mine is a lot cheaper than hers so check them out.
Usually it is cheaper to get a combined buildings and contents insurance. The Norwich Union are currently offering half price contents insurance when you buy buildings insurance as well. It also makes it easier for renewal and also if you need to make a claim which covers both contents and buildings e.g. such as a leak from a bath which will mean new tiles (buildings) and a new carpet (contents). I had one quote frm Axia which was 400 and the Norwich Union quoted me 180 for the same terms and conditions!
Direct line have proved themselves with me. I recently sold a poroperty covered by them and have always gone back to them having tried other companies. The most important thing to remember is do they pay out when you need it! Having had two lots of tools stolen and water pouring down my wall, they were brilliant.
I really don't think you can beat Fortis, I had to make a claim which cost them about 300. On renewing my policy I found that they had not increased my premium because of it. How is that for a good deal. I have both house and contents with them and only pay 130.00 p.a. Done through RIAS which is for the over 50's.
