Cold

How quick can a cold develop? Yesterday OH was fine in the morning, he went to the shop in the afternoon, as soon as he came back his nose was running and he was sneezing. He has filled a carrier bag with tissues. I suggested it was hay fever but he won't have that. He really does suffer when he has a cold. But I have never known him develop one so quickly.
I reckon I'm in for a few miserable days. I hope I don't catch it!

Colds can come on in no time. I can remember feeling my sinuses and nose fill up over seconds.

Hope your OH gets over it soon and that you don't catch it. Both wash your hands often and stay away from him. ;)

And yet the old adage is a cold takes 3 days coming, 3 days here and 3 days going away. Flu on the other hand comes on quite quickly. These viruses have probably mutated and interbred over the years that you can't tell them apart anymore. If he doesn't have sore throat, headache and feeling rough maybe it is an allergy??

Get him to try some antihistamines Caran, if it's an allergy he will feel better pretty quickly!

I have been known to go from normal/well to sneezing/runnynose/feverish in about 2 hours.

And no, I never get hay fever, so it was a fast-developing cold, that's certain.

My colds always start with a sore throat and then burning sensation at back of nose....two or three days before sneezing/runny nose et al.

my hayfever is exactly like having a cold... runny nose, sneezing, nippy eyes, anti histamine !
