In all that time, not once have I chosen the winning candidate! My vote has not contributed to anything, but I'll still carry on voting, and hope that, eventually, this country will wake up and give us proportional representation. Everyone knows this is the fairest way, but who in government will support it?
I certainly agree with everything jim360 says on the subject.

morning Ed from an early age I had no feelings for politics or religion I count myself lucky as both cause so many arguments between people I couldn't care less about both of them ..I will however hold my hands up as I voted to leave Brexit my 1st vote ever ..sick of them telling this country what we can or can not do!
"Even though the system you so disapprove of prevented a party you really wouldn't want to win from gaining seats, you hold them up as an example."
Well, yes, I don't like UKIP at all. But if so many people do, shouldn't they have better representation? It was my understanding that democracy means that sometimes people you don't like should still have a say. I wouldn't want to support a system that means that my opponents don't get any say, even if it's in my selfish interests to have them shut up.
