Less than two years ago, Theresa May was warned directly by the Police Federation of the danger of cutting police budgets so severely. She accused them of "scaremongering".
Was she right?
1337 armed police have been axed since 2010 under her watch.
984 soldiers deployed yesterday to effectively do their job.
Furthermore, in 2015 (again while May was home secretary, and Jeremy Hunt was still health secretary as he is now) the government decided not to renew a special arrangement with Microsoft to keep Windows XP secure, which as far as I can see has a direct relationship with the Wannacry attacks on the health service a few weeks ago.
Can the Conservative Party be trusted with the UK's security?
Can we trust the Conservatives on security - no. Can we trust Labour on security - no. Can we trust the Liberals on security - no. Can we trust any politicians on anything (except protecting politicians) - no. Should you still vote anyway? - yes. I think that covers it.
I would trust the military any day over Diane Abbott with the security of our public buildings and the like they are more than capable of doing this,30 years in N.Ireland for example. It's just, well almost criminal the way successive government has seen it fit to trim the military almost to the bone.

Mikey, we didn't have less police in 2005, nevertheless 7/7 happened. Trying to score political points out of this appalling event is pretty low - in my opinion.
I really can't get my head around any sane person thinking of voting for Corbyn and therefore Labour.
Every Labour supporter I know (which is virtually everyone I know) thinks he is a ***, yet most will still be voting Labour ..................?????????
Here's what a former Labour Home Secretary as to say.
And therein lies the fundamental difference between core labour voters and core Tories. Core Tories will vote for someone else if they really disagree, I know many who have including myself.
" They (any of them) can throw all the police and security services we can muster at it, but until someone is courageous enough to acknowledge and address the crux of matter honestly, we will never defeat it."
And do you know what that " crux of matter" is, naomi24 ?
sevenOP //And do you know what that " crux of matter" is, naomi24 ? //
naomi will no doubt answer herself, but in the meantime, the problem is not the lack of police and soldiers as Corbyn seems to think, it is the radicalisation of the simple-minded by cunning manipulators, on the internet, in mosques and in prisons.
No, but not because of the funding as suggested in the OP.
"Bombing raids on major cities all over southern England and the Midlands last night. The perpetrators and their motives are as yet unknown. Reports that the attacks have been claimed by so-called German Luftwaffe have yet to be confirmed."
Its easy to be wise with hindsight - who could have predicted these new tactics from the zealots who have run out of ideas and are totally devoid of conscience.
