Flies!!

Does anybody have any foolproof home remedies for repelling flies?? We've been inundated this week and have gone through cans of Raid! I did a bit of a Google and one suggestion which it said would definitely work was cut a lemon in half and stud it with lots and lots of cloves, then leave near window/ door where most flies come in. Well if anything is seems to be attracting them even more! Any suggestions gratefully received....

ooh, quick work !
Caught it on side before it decided to dance on monitor, now have to get rid of deceased fly and try to get the smell of hair salon out of lounge.
Now, do I open a window or not? :-D

Hi, Smow...logged in......started to read your thread........and a bloody fly flew into my eye!
Bypassed the specs too......an age to get it out and now I have a red eye and widespread mascara..... :-(

Hairspray.....if you're careful will work...just a shot and then follow the fly to the floor.......x

I've got fly screens at each door like Woofgang and also was recomended to put lavender around the frames, only get the odd one now.

We bought fly-papers, in France -- effective, but a truly horrible job to change them. Having success with a fly-swatter and also with washing-up water. They like thesmell of the

we've got one of these on the door; it works as long as people remember to straighten it after they've walked through
