Just Wondered
51 Answers
My Polish guy is coming back tomorrow after 12 - he has asked can he bring a friend - I am so wanting the work finished of course I said yes.
I do wonder why he is wanting to bring friend since the main work has been done - just two ceilings to be painted and a few handles to be put on.
Why does he want the friend. No I am not going to say no - I just want it all over.

I left them to it and came back about 4.30 and only one ceiling was done and some of it is not covered - needs about another 2 or 3 coats.
They did ask me earlier to get them more paint but it was never opened.
After the Polish guy telling me last week they wanted to do the whole living room - he told me tonight he is going to Poland on Sunday for 2 weeks holiday. Didn't like the second guy - think my 1st guy was a bit afraid of him.
So no curtains went up - no valance rail - so I will put my own curtains up and get somebody to put the valance rail.
A disappointing end to a lovely start. At least the hole is covered. The ceiling deffo would need another 3 coats. So that's my saga.

Just up from my lazy pit - yes that is true - I really didn't like the second guy - he seemed to have a bit of influence over the nice one.
They had put all of the stuff from the kitchen/dining room into living room so that would have been difficult to paint.
That meant I also had to pay twice - the nice guy kept apologising cos he knew I was truly disappointed after 4 hours - when he had done so much on his own in 4 hours.
I couldn't resist it but I emailed him last night and did say that I couldn't understand why he needed his mate with him when he done so well on his own.
He never answered. It is only two ceilings but it is the hassle of it all. He did say that where the plaster is "yellow" may come through and it would need a primer - why didn't they prime it first.
I got my curtains up - well one side - you probably think God she goes on about these curtains - well one curtain weighs about 2 stone as there is 3 parts to them as well as linings. They did cost £800 so I surely don't want to part with them.
Will tackle the other one today. It is not the end of the world but I can get so tired.

No Anne - certainly not fretting and also got a good lot of stuff ie bric a brack into utility room - forgot to tell you that Oxfam are coming next Thursday to take the lot. I also have Xmas decs that I have never used so they will go too.
Anne I wouldn't never fret over material stuff when I have my bit of health such as it is and some friends are so ill with cancer.
