naomi; I thought the question, "what's wrong with beauty" was interesting and something long overdue.
What i find interesting is the concept that taking away free healthcare for millions could be construed as in any way 'liberating'.
Khandro, me too.
"ichkeria, // And presumably this film explains why Donald Trump is going to sort all that out.//

Your presumption is incorrect.

You're damn right it's incorrect! I was, however, assuming from the title of the question, that this was a video about Donald Trump liberating the USA. As I'm on a metered internet connection I'm disinclined to give this any of my time.
Has anyone who supports Donald Trump anything better to say about him other than he "says it like it is and therefore is freeing up all from political correctness". He was elected to govern the country, something he has signally failed to do so far. And it's 100% his own fault, despite what he claims
ichkeria, you're damn right I'm damn right.

ichi; // As I'm on a metered internet connection I'm disinclined to give this any of my time.//
This comes as a terrible blow, but bye-bye!
So let's get this straight: this ISN'T a film about how Trump is "liberating" the US then :-)

Correct?

Hard luck khandro, btw. All I meant was that I am unwilling to waste data allowance on conspiracy theory videos. I am fascinated by the fact that people in relatively free nations seem hell bent on heaping imagined persecution on their heads. Perhaps they should try out emigrating and living in the real thing ...
And then there is the matter of how Donald Trump might be the answer. I mean, we all know the conceit: Scaramucci tries to claim Trimp is "different" as he as a commoner and not part of the swamp, blah blah blah while the White House seems intent on declaring UDI from the rest of the political establishment. If the Trump administration had even 1% evidence of competence in its track record I'd be tempted to cut a bit of slack, however ...

ichi; In the time taken for you to write those posts, you could have watched and listened to at least 10 minutes of the video and then you would at least know what is under discussion and as you don't, your contributions are rather worthless. As naomi said earlier, there are some interesting issues which, whether you agree with them or not, are worth debating.
"Debating" is exactly what I am doing. But by all accounts the film is not about Donald Trump at all, it's just the same old schtick about some mythical PC conspiracy to silence us all. I don't need to waste my gigabytes on it. I AM keen to hear however how you think Donald Trump is liberating the US.
I meant to add re the video, a couple of people on here whose views I repsect have skeddadled out of it PDQ after only a few minutes and that is good enough for me :-)
Question Author
ichi; You're making more farewell performances than Frank Sinatra, bye-bye!
Farewell performances?
Far from it: I invited you to defend you claim (if that is what you are claiming) that Trump is liberating the US from something.
Question Author
ichi; Either listen to what is said in the effing video, or as Oliver Cromwell said, "You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!"

I regret that you should descend into foul language, which in the interests of concentrating on the matter in hand I'll ignore.
As you seem reluctant to be drawn on your premise I will throw the following at you:
In today's Times Justin Webb, intriguingly, suggests that far from being some sort of liberator against the PC forces of oppression, Trump is actually a product of the "liberal" obsession with trashing or at least ignoring, what are known as "civics" (notions of national pride and "citizenly" behaviour), the "morons" Trump appeals to (to use the language of those nasty trendy elites) being an American electorate who have been fed too long on conflict and a sort of constant, anti-Patriotic self-beating (how ironic for a man "who'd make America great again")
He claims and I quote
"The awful truth is dawning on thoughtful Americans that the trashing of norms of behaviour (ie as he sees it by such as Trump and his entourage) has been enabled by well-meaning but naive liberals who thought those norms were not worth teaching in class"
I'll leave that with you (when I say "leave" by the way, it doesn't mean I am actually "leaving" ok? :-) )
Well, he's just liberated another of his staff.

◾London Mayor Sadiq Khan banned advertisements that promote "unrealistic expectations of women's body image and health". Now Berlin is planning to ban images in which women are portrayed as "beautiful but weak, hysterical, dumb, crazy, naive, or ruled by their emotions". Tagesspiegel's Harald Martenstein said the policy "could have been adopted from the Taliban manifesto".

◾The irony is that this wave of morality and "virtue" is coming from cities governed by uninhibited leftist politicians, who for years campaigned for sexual liberation. It is now a "feminist" talking point to advocate sharia policy.

◾To paraphrase the American writer Daniel Greenfield, the irony of women celebrating their own suppression is both heartbreaking and stupefying.

One of the subjects touched on in the video which, 'isn't worth wasting time on'.
