Getting there! stuck on: 23down: Like a limb from a little mouser - supple. 7down: Flour oddly eaten by insect once. 24across: He locates killer - one progressing without appeal. All these answers could be any length as letters have to be removed before entering in the grid. Also I' failing to find an "L" or "L" in 9down Ruin (ie kill) old naval commanders chances (I have the answer a 10 letter word). and 15 across: Thin rocks in smooth stone face would be mountain in some parts (I have the answer an 8 letter word)Sorry difficult to explain to anyone not doing this crossword.
Thanks in advance.
23d little is extra.... anagram of a mouse(r) defn like a limb
24a poisoner = killer ....lose the i ... add it (appeal) and you have positioner
9d Hood is the naval commander ...anagram with iekill ... to give likelihood ...enter as LHDD
15a wall = smooth stone face hill = mountain....wanthill ...enter HILL in grid
Thank you Bobneish & saladdodger.
