Good Morning Early Birds!

Tuesday. After a day of sunshine and showers yesterday, it's looking fine this morning. So far anyway!
Tiggy is still patrolling his kingdom. So it's warm enough. Yur wee man has just said it's going to be a nice day. That'll do for me.
I had a very pleasent surprise phone call last evening. A friend I haven't had contact with since before I came here in 1996. Where she got the number from I have no idea, but then, she was a CID Detective Inspector! We had a good old natter for over an hour.
One meeting today, so some time in the garden if it's nice and sunny.
Have a happy day everyone.

Very sunny start today. Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day, after a wet start. The weather along the M4 corridor was very poor, but half way north towards Brecon. the sun came out and stayed out for the rest of the day.
Brecon Cathedral was wonderful, on the smallish side but perhaps more manageable than the large medieval ones. Had a really nice, home cooked lunch at the tea rooms.
Then we went the long way back to the M4, up over the Talybont Reservoir and found a place for Afternoon Tea.
A Noel Coward quote comes to mind :::::
“Wouldn't it be dreadful to live in a country where they didn't have tea?” !

Minty....yesterday was a perfect example of how lucky we are, living here so close to the Brecon Beacons. The canal was busy with long boats, and Brecon itself was full of families having a lovely day out in the sunshine.
This tea room we found was in the middle of nowhere, and we sat out in the late afternoon sun , and had our tea and cake ( a proper rich fruit cake, very moist....my old Mum would have been proud to have made that ! )
Only one small fly in the ointment....a whiney small boy was demanding a "burger" and wasn't very happy to be told by his long-suffering grandparents that "this is a Tea Room, not MacDonald's !
But Noel was right....there really isn't anything better than a plate of thinly sliced bread and butter, Tea and a good slice of cake !
They had hot buttered crumpets but I just could eat any more !
