A F A N Y During Ww Ii At Chisleigh Hall - 1) Where? 2) Who?

A friend of my mother's was a FANY at Chisleigh Hall during World War II. Wanting to glean more of her WW II activities, I looked at the veterans' list at Bletchley Park - but nothing was found.

I then discovered that this young lady was at Chisleigh Hall, working as SOE.
1) I would be most grateful for any details of CH, in particular in the 1940s.

Her Surname was "Green", Christian names "Daphne Pamela".
2) Does anybody know of FANY Green's records over this aforementioned period?

It seems that some records of FANY/SOE were bombed?/burnt. Hence their not being listed at BP.

There's a tiny snippet about a Daphne Green in the book, 'The FANY in Peace and War' which says,

'One enterprising FANY, Daphne Green, even managed to get married on Labuan Island'

Also I believe it's Chicheley Hall rather than Chisleigh Hall. Might help your research.

The people at FANY HQ are generous in their assistance helping us to find the history of Daphne Green.
But the story of her having married on that distant island of Labuan did seem quite adventurous. Now, according to her daughter, it appears that Daphne Green (who soon became Daphne Dell) may have been confused with Dawn Dell - as it turns out that Daphne had been incorrectly entered in her service records as Dawn Green.

I have been advised to try the National Archives in Kew, but whether anything about SOE/FANY personnel are traceable I would find doubtful. Does anybody know anything on such a matter as this?
