We are thinking of signing up for Freeview and wondered whether we would have to get a new aerial - the one we have at the moment is ancient! If we would need a new aerial, has anyone any idea how much this might cost us?
Thank you in advance!

If your TV aerial is 'ancient' as you say, you don't necessarily have to buy a new one.
Instead, look in the Argos catalogue for TV aerials that are compatible with Freeview - it clearly states which ones are, and which ones aren't. So, instead of shelling out 50 odd quid for a new one, just get an aerial that you plugs directly into your TV. It helps if you get one with a booster, which costs around 10.

I hear Freeview works in tons of areas now but a postcode check is recommended before you purchase a box. However, if you find some channels have a stronger signal than others (as I did) I recommend that you use good quality coaxial cable. Even if you don't have a fantastically good aerial (like me) a decent cable will help greatly ;-)
