Slow Wom
17 Answers
I inadvertently flushed one of these beautiful creatures out into the open with the vibration from my mower.
It was about a foot (30 cm) long and a soft gold colour. I picked it up and put it in a safe area of the garden.
For those who may not know, the slow worm is actually a type of legless lizard.
Lots of small toadlets around lately, so thats another thing to keep an eye out for when working in the garden.

Every day if it is warm, I have a quick look to see if they are okay. They are still there and seem happy to stay under a loose sheet on top of the pile.
