I've got quite a few of the normal answers but have no idea about the perimeter clues! Please could some kind person give me a "push start " Thanks in advance.

Clue 1 - first part has 5 letters, just means 'coldness of relations'. Part two, six letters - a three-letter word for 'elder' (referring to families perhaps), reversed and add the much-used three-letter word for 'child'.
