Tilly at 7.something. One of the huge differences between Protestants and R.Cs. is the transubstantiation issue, goes back to Henry VIII and the whole split with the Pope. Protestants regard the bread and wine as symbolic; R.C.'s as literal. We have one member of the congregation who is an R.C. (married to one of the churchwardens) and he cannot bring himself to take Communion with us because he believes that the bread actually changes into Christ's flesh and the wine into Christ's blood once inside his body.
He is at war with himself over this because he is a retired Biology teacher (and a very good one and head of dept.) and his brains cannot accept his faith - every so often he takes himself off to a Catholic church for Mass. Hope that helps. :)
