Appropriate? That's a difficult question to answer! There are some parents who don't want their 12yo children to watch Tom & Jerry because it's 'too violent' whereas others will happily let them watch Cannibal Holocaust. (It's not just parents that disagree about violent content. The BBC showed 'The A-Team' as peak-time family viewing; on Australian telly it was rated 'Over 18s only', and shown late in the evening, because of the violence in it).
