Yesterday was OH'S 80th birthday, I decided to give him a bit of a do!
Spent a couple of weeks planning and scheming what to cook etc.
Eventually sorted and just about finished the food when friends and family came round. We had a super night all 12 of us. But I had done my usual, over catered. So much so everyone was given a takeaway box to fill up with food to take home at the end of the night. It took us over an hour to find places to store the left overs and sort everywhere. 1.55 when we got to bed. Had to be up early as he had a hospital appointment at 10.15.
When we came home I went back to bed for 2.5 hours.
We had leftovers for dinner tonight, then I went up to daughters with quite a bit that would do for school lunch boxes.
But all in all a very good time.
On Sunday I decided to take everyone out for lunch.
By everyone I mean OH's son, daughter in law and 3 grandchildren, my daughter, SIL and 5 grandchildren.
His family live in Welshpool and all mine live about a mile away so we met up half way at a pub not far from Ledbury.
It was the first time everyone had met up for about eighteen years.
It went very well. All the g.kids got on and chatted.
Lovely, Caran. I don't often see my extended family owing to work, distance, kids doing their own thing (until they realise they need/miss us) etc.
It's great to have a whole family together.
