I think it is a personal thing- personally- I would definately wear it. If we are happy to eat supermarket meat, wear makeup, (even if it says it hasn't been tested on animals, the research that made that possible was probably from cosmetics tested on animals), accept medical treatments, smoke, wear leather shoe sand bags, (sorry, I don't believe my "Jimmy Choos" or other designer brands came off the cow I ate for dinner- it would have been specially bred for the quality leather), specialist leather such as crocodile and Ostridge- which Selfridges stock even though they say they won't stock fur- like what's the difference??!, fur trim coats, shoes, boots, bags, scarves and other accessories, man made fibres which are not bio degradable and destroy the enviorent- like FAKE FUR!, etc etc etc the list is endless- thn why not wear fur? It's no worse than any of the above, yet frowned upon by some just because it is less discreet.
Country people have to lay traps for some animals or if the number of them got out of contol they would destroy cattle etc and there would be more disaster.
Have you ever worked in a chicken factory? Do you see what goes on there? Believe me, you'd never eat chicken again if you saw it.
No, there are a lot of worse things that happen in this life than wearing a beautiful fur coat- don't feel guilty, wear it with pride- I would compliment you if I saw you and you looked gorgeous- it's coming back into fashion anyway.
People that give you negative reactions should do us all a favour and go and live on a mountaintop, next to a freshwater lake with no electricity, or anything else that disturbs nature, in a hand woven tent they made from the octton they grew themselves, (or a cave). Cos unless they do, they are contributing to harming the planet, even if it is indirectly.
