I will admit to knowing very little about the seafaring life....there is not drop of Nelsons blood in me.

But does anybody know why they didn't just sail this huge yacht round, rather than go to the expense of taking it by land ?

When I lived in Warwickshire the landlord of our local pub built a boat in his garden. It was huge. When it was finished he had an enormous crane to lift it over the pub and put on a trailer. He then took it across country and eventually sailed it to Spain.
