Mystery bird
5 Answers
I know this is difficult but does anyone recognise this bird?I live in Milngavie near Glasgow and twice while walking along the River Allander have briefly seen a bird about the size of a swallow. It has a white breast flies upwards very quickly, its wings are boomerang shaped and it flies down to earth again very suddenly. I have only managed to glimpse it for a few seconds. my best guess would be a sand martin although it's a bit early and they're gregarious or a sandpiper although i've never noticed large feet.any ideas anyone?
