Just returned via the above Motorways this afternoon, the weather condition were bad due to Rain / Spray, It's not so often I comment on the weather as I was used to it with a previous job, with the HGV you were above the height of Spray, never in my driving days seen suck bloody Idiots driving with no lights on, the intersection of the M56/ M6 the are has many overhead cameras, I can not for the life of me understand why the police do not book these idiots, I have not seen the late North West News tonight but would not be surprised if there has not been any accidents, Moan over.
You would think it cost money to have lights on. I hate following a car with bright daytime running lights on the front, and no lights on the back. With dashboards lighting up with ignition, idiots forget to put lights on. Flashing them is a waste of time.
As I see it most cars now have an 'auto' lights function. The sensor isnt clever enough to detect rain/fog etc in daylight and so the situation you describe is common. This function should be withdrawn until improvements are made.
This is a long time bug-bear of mine....these Driving Lights are a problem, mainly because not enough people know that they don't illuminate at the rear.
Not enough cars Ryzen, I followed two very new cars last week, black dark, no rear lights on. Even as a car buff, I'm unaware of lights being controlled by wiper use.
