frightening reading,
In the last fortnight, no fewer than 15 sitting councillors have been de-selected, or chosen not to stand again, because many of the thousands of new members want a more left-wing agenda.

this should make those on the left on this site take note.
Sounds like the Scottish branch could be ... smiley face.
I think the term is 'entryism'. That is what made Militant so successful in the 80s. The only reason they were purged was because Kinnock realised that with them like a millstone round his neck he was going nowhere. But they're back.

"The only reason they were purged was because Kinnock realised that with them like a millstone round his neck he was going nowhere. But they're back. " - will Jezza show the same wisdom and metal as Kinmochio in rooting out the cancer? Or perhaps he's happy for the party to head that way. Frightening for the Psuedo Tory wing of the party so beloved of eddie and mikey et al.
They will get the party the choose.

I think they are the nasty party. The fox dressed up as granny. But if you look closely you can see the teeth gnashing and tail wagging ready to drive the country into the ground with sudo good intentions.

I like spotting new words, well done.

// A "purge" In The Labour Party? //

Hope so.
//Can a militant hard left be a credible opposition? //

No - but it thinks it can. Delusional.
The next General Election is likely not be won by the hard left, but lost by the Conservatives. That is what happened in the 2017 General Election, and why the Conservatives are only there by a huge bribe to the DUP.

In answer to the question in the OP...
No more than Nadine Dorries seems to be doing in the Tory party!
Let's hope Momentum gain Haringey - in the same way that Militant once controlled Liverpool - and the result is the same disaster. People's eyes will then be opened once again.
For some that wont happen whatever Militant do, just look at some of the Labour supporters on her. Labour at any cost.
Lefties love purging things. They're only really happy when they're purging something. No doubt there'll be a committee involved full of angry people deciding who or what to purge next.
