My MGF was prone to 'forgeting' its key code after a flat battery. does your car have an immobiliser light on the dash? If so try this, put the key in the ignition and turn on till the ignition light comes on, now press and hold the unlock button on your fob for several seconds until the dash imobiliser light flashes rapidly. you should then be able to lock and unlock as usual.
This assumes that the TF is the same but its worth a try.
let me know if it works.
Cheers

Hey ugly_bob, the 1.8 K series is a fine engine capable of producing tons of power, we have one in a Mk3 Escort rally car giving 197bhp, its a screamer! They are very prone to early gasket failure due in part to the crap design of gasket and in part to the design of the coolant system which allows the engine to heat up from cold too rapidly.
