Bore Hole.

Does anybody have any experience of a property which has water supplied by a bore hole?
Is it reliable? What is the water pressure like? Does it take much to maintain it?
And any other info. you can give.
Thanks.

I have now booked to go and see the property next week.
Of course, I will ask questions, but vendors tend to tell you what you want to hear!
A bore hole sounds similar to a private drainage system, which I lived with for 10 years - maintain it properly, and there should be no problems.
Can I please ask another question? And I know this is a bit of a stupid one. Is there any danger of the water supply running out?

Depends. Each installation is different. The borehole should be 50 metres plus from the septic tank. You should have the water tested. This will tell you what treatment if any may be needed. A submersed pump is probably best. You will be totally dependant on electricity supply. I would guess that if the bore hole is 50 metres or more deep you might have a good constant supply.
