Spring water from a known, clean, local source can be lovely - but buying it at the end of a dubious (and ludicrously expensive) supply chain is madness.

It's not the 'muck', it's the parasites that would worry me - even houses with private supplies tend to have UV to kill the nasties these days.

I agree that much tap-water tastes vile - it's a treat to go to the Highlands to remember what proper water is like.

You don't have to go that far, Dave. The water at Seven Springs ( Cherbrook Valley ) on Cannock chase is very nice also.
Used to camp around there when we were kids ( and no we didn't pee in it, well most off us didn't ) ;-)
