Why do I always seem to have hay fever at this time of year,
I'm sneezing such a lot and forever blowing my nose.
I don't feel as if I have a cold.

Probably not hay fever. Could be irritated lining of nose and throat from dry indoor heating.
Allergic Rhinitis isn't just confined to the summer months - maybe the local wildlife or all that disturbed grass?
For the same reason my nose runs like crazy when the humidity gets past 35% ....if anyone knows why I'd be pleased to hear.

It's a real pest, Caran :((

But it happens every year at this time, could that really be the reason.
Most likely an allergic reaction to something in the house.....dust mites for example.
Question Author
I have lots of dust all year round!
Unlikely it's hay fever.

When was the last time you had your mattress aired and vacuumed?
Question Author
I think it was last year. When I turned the mattress and got trapped between said mattress and mirror doored wardrobe as I posted on here.
Lol. I air and vacuum the mattress every time I change the bed. My mattress can't be turned though.

I have a very sensitive nose. Anything sets me off sneezing, which makes my eyes water. Only lasts minutes though, unlike the dreaded hay fever.
