'Thanks', or not?

I'm new here (winces at though of barrage of abuse from long-termers) and was wondering ...
is it good etiquette to thank someone on here for posting a good answer, or just accept the fact they answered and leave it at that?

Hi naz_nomad, it is good etiquette to thank people yes, and there is a rating system where you can 1,2 or 3 stars for the answers.

And dont worry, I have found the majority of the regular, well established Abers to be really helpful and warm natured. Sometimes its felt that a question, for example, is silly, and therefore warrants a silly reply, but its generally all in good humour.

Hi there and welcome, there are no hard and fast rules but as previously stated a thank you is always appreciated. So never be afraid of posting, this is a brilliant site I have always found and if you treat people with respect then they usually treat you the same. This site has helped me no end and I now have smooth legs, am no longer baffled by the last crossword clue, know which fake tans are the best and know that within minutes I can find out virtually anything !!!

as in real life it's nice to say thank you, and as in real life lots of people don't... it's always heartwarming to receive the odd star (via the Rate This Answer panel). Welcome, anyway, most people are happy with newcomers but some of them do turn out to be trolls.

Well on here I found out about Fake Bake and it really is brilliant and I got it from their website. And as for the smooth legs, because of reading what others put on here I bought a Silk Epil epilator and now I never have to shave my legs anymore !
