Sapi - I'm not a monarchist (dad was a republican in the '50s), but there is a constitutional role for the Monarchy and they have cut, considerably, the Civil list and other drains on the public purse in my lifetime. I don't approve of all the Queen has approved and question many of her decisions, but the Monarch is a stabilising constant.

As Naomi said 'Life isn't fair'. Horrible moment for me when I realised that, but it's true. We grow as people by coping with the hand we are dealt. :)

It seems to be a sad comment on our times that the great Christian religion upon which European standards and culture is founded is by some reduced to wandering around "old buildings" gazing at architectural features.

And naomi, a Muslim saying his or her prayers, in or out of a religious center, is exactly the same as a Christian, a Jew, a Hindu or whatever, doing likewise.
