But wee Maxie was bored today as I couldn't get him with the snow and prob tomorrow as I am scared to walk on the ice.

However I am going to make him some fun things from ends of kitchen roll, toilet rolls and other boxes - I was hoping to fill them with a few rattly biscuits and other dog sweets.

You know the licquorice sweets you can buy in strings for kids - would that be ok for Maxie - mean to cut them up and them rattle around the box.

He just plays with Punky but it is just a soft toy - I have bought him others but is not interested - he does like to chew tho.

^^^^^^^^couldn't get him out with the snow
I wouldn't give him sweets.

Does he like a ball?
I'd definitely avoid sweets made for humans (especially licquorice - I hate to think what it would do to his digestive system!).

Any pet store will stock a good range of dog treats. Indeed, Pets at Home's website lists no fewer than 723 products within that category:

Or you could just get him a bone. Most butcher's will give you them for free.

Got him a bone - he wasn't too fussed either. Neither was Harvey.
Those ice grippers that you wear over the soles of your shoes are great for walking in icy conditions. I too hate going out in the ice jj, but I feel very confident when I put those on my shoes to take my dog out. Just a thought for you.

Thanks - my brother bought me those some years back and I hadn't a clue what they were for because we didn't have much bad weather to warrant them. Hence what did I do - threw them out.

No after all the falls I've had over the years would be too nervous to attempt it.
Don't blame you then jj.
Type- dog treat ball- into Amazon .
I bought one for Shaney ,who's sadly long gone now ,but he loved them.Kept him amused for ages especially the ones that squeaked .

Like an oul eejit that I am - got some toilet ends - put one inside the other - put in a little biscuit broke up. Done this with a couple of small boxes - rattled them. Left them in his bed. Ach no - not a bit interested. Love him to bits tho. The most affectionate dog ever. Just wants to sit beside his mother. Will have a look at Amazon.

But you know if I was younger I would take another dog on. Nothing like 2 dogs together. They enjoy each other's company so much.
2 dogs still need exercise or else they become bored and frustrated and that’s just cruel. What about your dog walker?
Question Author
Looked at Amazon Shaney - had loads of those and big massive balls. About 7 big balls belonging to Harvey - Harvey's nickname was "Geordie Best" was stunning with the balls - heading them around the pitch. When you bounced them on his head - he headed them back. Then he coulda nosed them around. He got a lot of stimulation from that.

People were astounded to see him in the park. However many's a football match he interfered in to my alarm. This wee dog not interested in balls, squeaky toys - only this Punky soft toy which on looking there is beginning to rip a little - so will get him another one when the snow melts.

It is more the chew he seems to like as I reluctantly gave him 2 denture stix yesterday. Don't like giving him these as they are supposed to be fattening.
