Boiler Cutting Out
12 Answers
I have a Grant multi pass combi boiler. A little over a week ago I ran out of fuel. Bought a couple of drums and there was enough in there to keep me going. Bought a couple more drums at the weekend and Mr BM kindly came and topped me up this morning.
Now the boiler has suddenly decided to cut out. Fired it up again - it works for about 10 mins and then cuts out.
It could be nothing to do with the running out of fuel and it is coincidental. Any suggestions, please? (It is properly pressured etc)

Lol, no Buenchico (although he did walk in the house and take off his trousers but only cos he wont drive in his work trousers due to his car).
It seems to be working ok with the radiators but there is no hot water. Which is a problem as I have no means of showering. When I run the hot water tap it cuts out. And of course the landlord has massively fallen out with me because a) I had the temerity to leave his **** hole and b) I refused him access on Saturday because he only gave me an hour's notice and I was going out.

Has the pressure in the boiler dropped?,some where on the boiler usually in clear view there will be gauge if it drops to far below 1 (or into the red) the boiler trips out.Its easy resolved as there should be two normally disconnected and switched off on mine I reconnect then with a flexible pipe, and turn them both on.When the reading on the gauge rises above one turn off the water disconnect the pipe and away it should go.Sorry I can't be more specific as different boilers are configured differently.
I've just bled the radiators and there appears to be no air. I had to switch the system off because having had a perennial problem with the pressure dropping, now the pressure is going sky high.
