While Hillsborough was a tragedy, and the cover up a national scandal, the industry it now spawns is extremely tiresome.

I suspect they were using the fact the 6 is an upside down 9 is the "karma what goes around ...".

Whole thing is a bit naff but why should it be banned? Smacks of a Socialist Totalitarian State, if something is appalling then the public wont buy it and may indeed boycott your shop so let market forces decide.
i can see that this is a sensitive issue and can be misconstrued as relating to that tragic event, best perhaps to withdraw the shirts.
“best perhaps to withdraw the shirts.”

Or ask all those that are offended to dig deep and purchase all stock so that the company doesn’t lose then has to hike up prices of other garments punishing innocent consumers.
Hillsborough was a tradegy - no question about that - but it is a little tiresome that anything that is deemed to have referenced it has people losing their minds in their condemnation.

Crowbarring this (horrible) shirt into the tradegy is silliness.

96 may be a horrible number for them, but I suspect 32 is a horrible number for the Italians. Liverpool supporters are always remarkably quiet about Heysel though. I wonder why.

All coincidences can mean something to someone if they irrationally link things together.

Regarding the designers knowing fully well what they’ve done, not everybody is into football or historic tragedies.

Typical Liverpool, it don't take much to get them 'shirty'.
