Processor fan

I have a pentium 2 processor on my computer with a fan on it, the fan has a 3 pin connector on it, but it is not plugged in anywhere! I've looked but i can't seem to find anywhere i can plug it in, can you help? Also, i was thinking of upgrading it to a pentium 3. I've looked on ebay and seen two things, a 'heatsink with fan' which is the same as the one i have now, and one that just looks like a chip. On mine i have a intel chip at the moment in the middle of the motherboard, but i can't read what it says and therefore don't know if it is the same thing or not. As far as the CPU fan goes, you can get convertors that will plug from the processor fan to the 4 pin power sockets that come from the main power supply unit. All pentium II processors were the slot 1 type (like the second ebay item). So if you do indeed have a PII processor (and your mainboard can support it) I would look at the second one. The first ebay item is a socket PIII processor. The smallest (Mhz wise) slot 1 PIII was the same as the biggest PII processor ie 450 MHz. I think you need a BX chipset on your mainboard to support both PII and PII chips.
