We've recently had a stretch of bamboo removed from the side of our garden which gets sun in the morning and early afternoon. The ground isn't very good at the moment, though I'm planning to have it thoroughly dug over and compost added. We have loads of colour in the spring and autumn, but in the summer the garden tends to be mostly green - more shrubs than flowers. I need something easy to manage, but bright and cheerful. What should I look for?

Hypericum was my first thought. Mines just started to develop flower buds.
PS, Comes in many forms and sizes.

Thanks, Toorak.not sure about the name Sneezeweed, though! Chipchopper, I do like hypericum; we have one (Hidcote) already, which usually flowers late summer/autumn.
