Proof Of No Claims

Hi can anyone help with this. I am about to insure my car and for the first time I will be the first named driver I usually put my husband and me the second named driver. they will probably ask for proof of no claims which I have but my husband is the first named driver and myself the second will this make any difference ..... Thanks for any replys

You don't have a no claims bonus as the policy is your husbands.
Your new insurance co may give a discount as you were a named driver but strictly speaking you don't have a no claims bonus of your own.
I agree with Islay's comment. I have been in a similar position. I was a named driver on my husband's policy and then took out insurance in my name with my husband as a named driver. Although I had been driving for quite a while with no accidents, I had to start from scratch with no no claims bonus.
Its why youngsters used to be advised to start building up their own NCB instead of being on Mum's or Dad's insurance

Which of course (if they are the owner and/or principle user of the car) is known as "fronting". If discovered the insurers will retrospectively void the policy leaving anybody who has driven it liable to a charge of driving with No Insurance..

Thanks everyone got it sorted cost me more....but at grand age of sixty one I can now start my own no claims bounus
