Watering The Flowers

Will I kill the flowers in the garden if I water them with the washing-up water which contains waste stuff from the plates but more importantly a dish washing liquid? Is the dishwashing liquid poison to the plants?

I seem to remember that washing up liquid in a spray is useful for killing greenfly. I don't think the water itself would kill anything.

would not put detergent on plants.. a weak solution to kill aphids only..

I’ve been doing this for years, but only on non-edible plants.
I also keep a bucket in the shower and use this water as well.
I find it useful to keep a watering can beside the sink, and fill it with the water I have to run to get to the hot water for washing up.

I have a water butt, I keep it topped up with the run off water from the hot tap before the hot water comes through.

I prefer to water plants in the morning, knowing that slugs are out on maneuvers at night and they love freshly watered plants.
